General information

Language

The official language is Spanish, as in the rest of the country, along with the Catalan which is the official language of the Balearic Islands. In most tourist establishments it also speaks English, German, Italian and French

Currency

The official currency is euro, as in the rest of Spain

Tips

As in all of Spain there is the custom to leave a tip in the order of 5-10% of your total bill.

Schedules

The usual hours of shops-offices is from 9:00 to 14:00 and from 17.00 to 20.00. However many locals remain open at noon and until midnight in the most frequented areas such as Es Pujol. Some are open to the public on Sundays and public holidays. Bars, Pubs and Clubs are open every day of the week until dawn.

Emergencies

In case of emergency, you can ask for immediate help by calling the phone number 112 that corresponds to the emergency service of the Balearic Islands. The call is free and will answer you in 4 languages (Spanish, Catalan, English and German) Through this number is to coordinate all ambulance calls, firefighters and law enforcement to have a rapid and effective response in case of any type of emergency. If you have hired a travel insurance and during your stay you require medical care, do not forget to get in touch with the insurance so that they can help you.

Pets
People who want to travel with their four-legged friend will have to make sure that the health certificates required by Spain are in order , and that the choice accommodation allows the entrance to animals .In addition , if the animal is considered dangerous breed will have to travel with the special certificate. However on site you must comply with the general and specific rules on the use of a leash , muzzle and other provisions to apply. As a general rule however, is not allowed access to pets in bars , restaurants , grocery items , beaches and urban transport , except for guide dogs . Electricity

The electric current is 230W and 50 Hz .

Petrol

In the petrol station will sell UNLEADED petrol ( 95 or 98 octane ) and Diesel .On Formentera there are two petrol station on the island , one in the street of San Ferran in San Francisco and the other on the way from San Francisco to Savina .
