SAILING TOWARDS A BETTER FUTURE

The largest shipping companies of the Pitiusas are committed to the environment.
Balearia, Trasmapi and Mediterranea Pitiusa, have decided to move steps towards the environment, in order to protect the nature around us.
As of 2018, they have started to use more ecological and sustainable ships, pioneering projects have been initiated to separate and recycle waste, plastic containers, bricks cans, cardboard paper generated at ferries, and lead collection campaigns both on beaches as in seabed.

These initiatives arise, in turn, to raise awareness of the fragility of our maritime environment in the islands of Ibiza and Formentera.

Many companies that collaborate with the shipping companies, want to strive to promote and contribute to the protection of biodiversity and the marine ecosystem, especially in the oceanic Posidonia meadow, through dissemination and awareness projects aimed at all audiences.

In recent years, projects focused on the defense of our environmental heritage have been developed, one of these programs is the analysis of the presence of micro plastics on the beaches of Ibiza and Formentera, with the aim of raising public awareness of the need to reduce this type of waste.

One day in Formentera

A day in Formentera
If you are passing through Ibiza, you have to take a day to go to discover the island of Formentera, the small one of “Las Pitiusas”, famous for its paradisiacal beaches.
The smallest of the Balearic Islands offers an uncontaminated nature, peace and tranquility.
If you have arrived in Ibiza by cruise, we make it easy for you to spend a day in Formentera:
We offer a connection between the port of Marina Botafoch, where the cruise ships arrive, and the boarding port for Formentera;
Fast ferry every 30 minutes that connect the two islands, and once arrived at the port of La Savina, you can choose how to visit the island:
Bus circuit, you can choose between a longer route to discover the whole island, or a shorter route , with stops on the most beautiful beaches.
Rent a vehicle: you can find from the bicycle (but it can be an exhausting option in the summer with high temperatures), a motorcycle or quad, ideal for couples, or even a car for the whole family.

In this way you can go from Ses Illetes Beach, to Migjorn Beach in a few minutes.

Our favorite beaches are: Ses Illetes, Cala es Pujols, S’Alga beach, Caló d’Es Mort, Levante beach and Es Arenals beach, all offer crystal clear waters,
with several shades of blue and fine white sand.
